Doping Control

Doping control (also known as sample collection ) is an essential part of promoting and protecting the doping-free sport. It is the process to detect and/or deter the use of a prohibited substance, or a prohibited method, by an athlete. Athletes must comply with a valid request by Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) officials for testing; if they refuse to comply an athlete may face sanctions. The penalty for refusing to provide a sample upon a valid request may be the same as providing a sample that contains a prohibited substance.

Our doping control program complies with the World Anti Doping Code, the International Standard for Testing and Investigation, and The Anti-Doping Act, 2016 of Kenya.

The test can be either in-competition or out-of-competition such as at an athlete’s training venue or home. All of the tests are carried out with no-advance notice and involve the collection of urine, blood or both.

Strategic Plan

The Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) invites stakeholders to contribute to the review of its Strategic Plan (2023–2027). As part of its mandate to promote clean sport and uphold integrity, ADAK has developed a Mid-Term Review Report and welcomes your valuable input.
